Hurray for the Riff Raff is the brainchild of Alynda Segarra, a singer/songwriter of Puerto Rican descent born and raised in the Bronx, whose musical imagination was first sparked by punk on the lower east side, beatnik poetry, and the legacy of Nuyorican activists, the Young Lords. Segarra settled in New Orleans around 2004 and began performing on the street, since then Alynda has released 6 albums under the moniker Hurray for the Riff Raff, each expanding the Folk-Rock sound and writing anthemic protest songs for our time.

A sustainable fashion pop-up featuring a selection of sophisticated vintage and independent up-cycled designers curated by fashion historian and owner of LA vintage emporium Decades, Cameron Silver. Since founding Decades in 1997, Cameron Silver has been a passionate advocate for environmental conscientiousness and sustainability in the fashion and retail industry. Holly Beinhorn-Tupper will be on hand with her Texas-based line Cultus Artem, featuring fine jewelry, fragrance and botanical apothecary. Cocktails and tequila tastings are provided by LALO throughout the weekend.

Hey I Like it Here hosts VADA through Chinati Weekend, showcasing their iconic eyewear and heirloom quality yet easy-wearing fine jewelry. Raise a glass to them, and celebrate with us the opening of "For Better or For Worse", a show of new paintings by Marfa artist Christina Moser Brill, on October 7 during Chinati's "Made in Marfa" gallery night.
Aghaa' Hat Co. Pop-Up

El Paso's Native-owned Aghaa' Hat Co. pops up at Hey I Like it Here during the Trans-Pecos Festival of Music + Light. After spending 20 years in New York, Cynthia Gutierrez-Krapp’s journey into hat making and beading in her hometown has been an act of reclaiming her ancestors' history and traditions. All of her hats are built to last a lifetime; handmade, hand creased, hand sewn and made of rabbit fur felt or repurposed vintage beaver fur felts. Cynthia will be on hand with ready-to-purchase hats, hat bands and accessories, and vintage and modern jewelry from Silver Spur Designs in El Paso. Botanical Bundle Dye Workshop
September 3, 11 AM - 2 PM | The Farmstand
Join us for this workshop under the Farmstand at Saint George Hall, and you will learn how to create colors and patterns on fabric using the bundle dye process. Bundle dye is a natural dye technique using fresh, frozen or dried flower petals and plant materials to create colors and patterns on fabric. All materials are provided; the workshop time includes a break for lunch.
Janette Terrazas is a founder of the Ni En More studio and a passionate textile artist and who offers programs for economic development to women living in vulnerable conditions in Ciudad Juárez, México through textile design, upcycling and botanical dying. She studied Textile Design in the Winchester School of Art in the UK and now works in the fields of print and textiles, using ecological and sustainable methods. Her work brings healing into community processes.
