Agave Festival: Dinner with Niteshade Chef Collective and Gracias a Dios Mezcal

Please join us at Bar Nadar Pool + Grill on Saturday, June 8 for a dinner showcasing the talents of Dallas-based Niteshade Chef Collective and co-chefs Peter Barlow and Josh Harmon, accompanied by a selection of cocktails and pours courtesy of Gracias a Dios Mezcal. The event will feature three stations inspired by both coastal Mexico and the Chihuahuan desert, including an extensive seafood raw bar, a live grill with birria-style goat, smoked short ribs and Texas quail, and a plancha for freshly-made tortillas and quesadillas – all complemented by salsas, chiles, regional produce and more. Chef Josh Harmon began his culinary career at an Auntie Anne’s pretzel kiosk, and eventually found himself in the kitchens of lauded New York City restaurants such as Le Cirque and Buddakan before relocating to North Texas, where his cooking earned accolades from critics and diners alike along with the designation of Eater Dallas’s 2017 Chef of the Year.

Chef Peter Barlow made his way to Dallas from Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he was most recently Chef de Cuisine at Easy Bistro and Bar for Erik Niel, who was a semifinalist for a James Beard in 2016, and 2017. In the midst of his five years with Easy Bistro, Peter took a year off to stage across the country with top chefs and restaurants including Douglas Keene (2 Michelin Star Chef) at Cyrus Restaurant; Chefs Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo of Animal; Chef Ludo Lefebvre at Trois Mec; and then as a Commis Chef for a year for Curtis Duffy (3 Michelin Star Chef) at Grace in Chicago. Shortly after that, he spent time with Chef John Shields (Charlie Trotter’s/Alinea) at Riverstead Inn in Virginia. Peter was the opening Chef De Cuisine at Flora Street which has remained as the only 5-star restaurant in Dallas as well as a James Beard Nomination for best new restaurant 2017! Among many other accolades in Dallas, Chef Peter has been nominated multiple times as best new chef and rising star chef of the year in Texas by many local publishers.
